GAME LENGTH:
1 hour
The Carrollton Classic will follow OTC Sports Coach Pitch Rules.
Please see below!
If the time runs out in the top of the inning the home team will only be authorized to bat if they are losing, even if they cannot tie or win the game.
If the home team is winning in the top of the inning and the time runs out, the game will be called if the visiting team cannot win the game even by scoring 7 runs. The score will be input from the previous inning.
No infield fly rule in coach pitch.
No intentional walks allowed.
No runner may leave the base until contact is made by the batter.
A. A regulation team consist of 9-10 players. Not all coach pitch players are required to play. Lineup guidelines are listed above under rule section #10.
B. Teams can use either 9 or 10 defensive of players. 1 player must play the pitching position and 1 player must play the catching position. For teams using 10 defensive players 4 players must play the outfield positions. Umpires will determine if an outfielder is considered to be playing in infield position and
will notify the coach immediately.
C. Teams must have a minimum of 8 players to start and finish a game but must take an out for the 9th player. If the lineup drops below 8 players, the game is declared a forfeit at that point with the final score being the score at the time of the forfeit unless the team that has to forfeit is winning the game at
the time then the final score will be logged 7-0 in favor of the team that did not forfeit.
D. There shall be a “10” foot arc drawn from first “1st” baseline to third “3rd” baseline in front of home plate. A batted ball must go past this line to be a fair ball. There shall be a thirty “30” foot arc drawn from first “1st” baseline to third “3rd” baseline in front of home plate. Infielders must stay behind this line until the ball is hit.
E. All fielders must stay behind the safety arc until the baseball is hit.
F. There is a pitching mark 40 feet from the back tip of home plate, however coaches may pitch from the front of the safety arc if preferred.
G. There is a circle drawn with a 10ft radius with the pitching rubber in the middle. This equates to the front of the circle being at 30ft, the pitching coaches mark at 40ft, and the back of the circle and 50ft. This is a safety area for the player assuming the pitching position.
H. The pitcher cannot leave the pitching circle until the baseball is hit. If the pitcher leaves the circle earlier the play continues. After the play has ended the offensive team has the option of taking the result of the play or excepting a no pitch and the result of the play as being over.
I. If this occurs a second time within the same game by the same player then he is removed by the umpire from the pitching mound the remainder of the game.
J. Each batter is allowed 6 pitches or three strikes. If a batter hits a foul ball on the 6th pitch he is allowed to continue batting until he either does not make contact with the ball or puts it in play. A no swing on the 6th pitch is an out.
K. Max 7 runs or 3 outs per inning.
L. A ball hit in fair territory that hits a coach pitching is declared a foul ball if the umpire in his judgment declares that the contact was on unintentional. If in the umpires judgment he declares that the coach intentionally make contact with the ball the batter is out.
M. Bunting is not allowed “duh”
N. Umpires will call time after every play when in their judgement the play is dead. Time will be called as soon as all of the 3 occur.
1. All runners stop attempting to advance.
2. The ball is in the possession of a fielder in the infield.
3. No defensive play is imminent.
